The NHS-Galleri trial is the largest of its kind, following more than 140,000 people to test whether adding a multi-cancer blood test to standard NHS care catches cancer earlier. Its headline goal — a statistically proven drop in late-stage (III and IV) cancers — was not met. But it did record a meaningful fall in the most advanced, stage IV diagnoses, an effect that strengthened with each yearly round of screening.
