Cardiac risk screening (coming soon)

A coronary CT scan, combined with AI-derived plaque and inflammation analysis and advanced blood biomarkers, builds a detailed picture of your coronary health from five perspectives. Every scan is clinician-led, with clear guidance before you test and support in understanding your results.

One assessment, five perspectives on your heart

Most heart checks rest on a single measure of risk. This screening brings five together – your blood and metabolic markers, the degree of any artery narrowing, how much plaque is present, what that plaque is made of, and whether there is active inflammation in the arteries. Combined and read with AI-enhanced analysis, they build an exceptionally clear picture of your current and future heart risk, and where it may need attention. It is a risk-assessment screening, not a diagnosis.

  • Imaging – a coronary CT scan maps your arteries and any disease
  • AI-enhanced analysis – plaque and inflammation assessed using Caristo Diagnostics’ CaRi-Plaque™ and CaRi-Heart® technologies
  • Blood biomarkers – advanced markers of cardiovascular and metabolic risk
  • One risk profile – the layers are combined into a single, clear picture of your coronary health

Five perspectives, one risk profile

1

What is driving your risk?

Blood & metabolic health – Cholesterol profile

  • ApoB
  • Lp(a)
  • hs-CRP
  • HbA1c
2

Are your arteries narrowed?

Coronary artery narrowing – CT coronary angiography

  • Location of disease
  • Severity of stenosis
3

How much atherosclerosis is there?

Plaque burden – Total plaque volume

  • Extent of plaque
  • Distribution
4

What does the plaque look like?

Plaque characteristics – CaRi-Plaque™ analysis

  • Plaque composition
  • Higher-risk plaque features
5

Is there active coronary inflammation?

Coronary inflammation – CaRi-Heart® FAI score

  • AI-derived inflammation assessment
  • Additional prognostic information

Who should consider cardiac risk screening?

This screening is designed for adults who want a clearer, more complete picture of their heart health – particularly those with risk factors such as a family history of heart disease, raised cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, or a history of smoking, and anyone taking a proactive approach to cardiovascular health. A Preologi clinician will review your history before confirming whether the screening is right for you.

See risk before it becomes an event

Much of the disease that leads to heart attacks builds silently, over years, before any symptoms appear. Understanding not just whether your arteries are narrowed, but how much plaque is present, what it is made of, and whether it is inflamed, means risk can be identified and managed earlier – informing decisions about lifestyle, treatment and monitoring well before an event.

A more complete view than a single risk measure

Coronary heart disease
is a leading cause of premature death in UK

By assessing coronary health across five layers rather than one, the screening aims to characterise risk more fully than standard measures – including features, such as plaque composition and coronary inflammation, that conventional tests don’t capture.

A clinician will confirm whether the test is suitable for you

You are an adult seeking a detailed assessment of your heart health
You are able to undergo a coronary CT scan (which involves a small dose of ionising radiation and may require a contrast agent)
You understand the screening assesses risk and does not, on its own, diagnose heart disease
You are willing to discuss and act on the recommendations that follow

Because a coronary CT involves ionising radiation, suitability and any safety checks are confirmed individually by a Preologi clinician before your scan is booked.

Simple, clear and guided by experts

1

Book your test

Our team will review your information, confirm suitability and explain the process, including any preparation and safety checks, before you proceed

2

Attend your scan

Your coronary CT scan is carried out at an approved imaging partner. The appointment is explained clearly in advance

3

Analysis

Your images and blood biomarkers are analysed, with plaque and inflammation assessed using AI-enhanced CaRi-Plaque™ and CaRi-Heart® technologies

4

Receive your result

A qualified clinician explains your five-layer risk profile clearly, answers your questions and talks you through recommended next steps

5

Receive follow-up support

Preologi helps coordinate any recommended specialist review or ongoing management

Your five-layer risk profile, explained by a clinician

Rather than a single number, your result brings together five perspectives on your coronary health into one clear picture – what is driving your risk, whether your arteries are narrowed, how much plaque is present, what it is made of, and whether there is active inflammation. A clinician explains what this means for you and the recommended next steps. A screening result is not a diagnosis; where it points to a concern, appropriate specialist assessment follows.

Whatever your result, you are supported

Preologi’s clinical team will explain your result and the appropriate next steps. Where screening identifies a concern, we help coordinate specialist cardiology review and ongoing management promptly, so any follow-up is expert-led, thorough and timely. Our aim is to make sure you understand what your result means, what it does not mean, and what to do next.

Answers to common questions

No. It assesses and characterises your risk. Where it identifies a concern, a clinician arranges appropriate specialist assessment

Yes, a small dose of ionising radiation, and sometimes a contrast agent. A clinician confirms it’s appropriate for you and completes any safety checks before booking

Important Safety Information

CaRi-Heart® is software that analyses coronary CT angiography (CCTA) images to assess coronary inflammation and estimate cardiovascular mortality risk. It is intended to support clinical decision-making; it is not a stand-alone diagnostic test and does not replace assessment by a qualified healthcare professional.

CaRi-Heart® results can be affected by the quality and technical characteristics of the CCTA images and by the clinical information supplied. As with any decision-support software, results may be inaccurate. A false-positive or false-negative result could lead to an inappropriate assessment or management decision. The result should therefore be interpreted alongside the original scan images, medical history, symptoms, cardiovascular risk factors and other relevant test results. It should not be used in patient groups, with scan equipment or under conditions outside its validated and authorised use.

A low-risk result cannot guarantee that coronary disease or a future cardiovascular event will not occur. A higher-risk result does not, by itself, diagnose a heart attack or determine which treatment is appropriate. Treatment decisions should be made by a healthcare professional after considering the whole clinical picture. CaRi-Heart does not itself treat or reduce cardiovascular risk.

The FDA-authorised indication is for adults aged 30–80 who have been referred for CCTA. CaRi-Heart® is to be used by trained operators, and its results reviewed by healthcare professionals.

CaRi-Heart® is not for assessing an acute emergency. If you have new or severe chest pain, sudden breathlessness, collapse or other symptoms that could indicate a heart attack, call 999 or seek emergency medical care immediately. Do not wait for a CaRi-Heart result or a routine appointment.
